I have signed up for the freecycle and have learned that you have to quick in responding. There have been a lot of great things being offered but taken before I could reply.

I Love freecycle..it has really helped me as I move from side of the state to the other and almost all my stuff is still in storage back home so I've gotten a dryer and a lamp which was wonderful and as soon as I get my stuff from storage I plan on freecycleing ALOT..lol

yeah I've had no shows too which I just don't understand? Common curtesy would be to at least let me know so I can pass it on to someone else :( & I live in town!!

Me too, though I have more no-shows for pickups than freecycler's that show ;0) I live so far out though, I'm 45 min. north and south of the 2 big cities and people don't like driving that far. I do though make plenty of trips to pick things up!

Jennie, Thank you for suggesting Freecycle. I LOVE it too! I have gotten tons of things from their also. I've blessed plenty of people with things too!

I save money on tons of things! I "Freecycle"! I am also a recycler. I'll have to take some pictures of some of the things I've gotten on Freecycle. Freecycle is an email list (yahoo group). There is no money involved. If you have something you want to "offer" rather than take it to the garbage dump, just post it! Or....if there's something you are "wanting", just post for it. The most recent I got was a double stroller. Doing daycare I really needed one but couldn't afford to buy one (it had to be a double...triple would have been even better) So I went on freecycle (a yahoo group) and posted a "wanted". Someone about a half an hour away emailed me and said they had one I could have, it had been used for a couple of years and now was just sitting on their porch. So my husband went and picked it up for me. When he got it home "OH MY GOSH!! It looked brand new! I looked it up on the internet and I got a $189.00 double stroller for free! It is so awesome!
If you have never visited the Freecycle website, just go to freecycle.org and click on your state to locate the freecycle group in your area. The website will also tell you more about freecycle. It's an awesome group!
