Q: How do I advertise my business on ThriftyWAHM.com?
A: One of the main purposes of this site is to provide a place where work at home moms (WAHMs) can advertise their businesses and business opportunities for free in a safe social network. There are many ways this can be done:
1. Our Forum
This is the place where most people will go to search for work at home opportunities. It's highly recommended you post here! Place ads for your services and products here. Place ads for your business opportunities here.
2. Your Blog
This is probably the most obvious place to put your information. Blog posts are rotated through the site's front page as they are posted. You may also link out from your ThriftyWAHM.com page to your business blog, and I am exploring ways to expand blog networking opportunities which may be implemented in the future for the benefit of our members.
3. Your Personal Page
Also known as "My Spot." You can talk freely and post pretty much anything you want regarding your business. Your personal page has a unique link which you can use outside our network to drive traffic back to your personal page.
4. Photos
Photos of your products, business logos or any other image you post are rotated in the photo section of the main page.
5. Videos
Videos of your products, services, etc are rotated in the video section of the main page. You may upload them directly to the site or embed code from other networks such as the lovable YouTube.
6. Banner ads
Banner ads, and other forms of advertising, are available for an affordable price. Check to see what's available now.
Q: Where is advertising a no-no on ThriftyWAHM.com?
A: ThriftyWAHM takes spam very seriously, as do many of you. While we want to advertise our businesses, we also want to keep our network clear from spam and make it a fun, friendly place for everybody.
Where advertising absolutely will not be tolerated (SPAM):
- Groups - It is up to the individual group owners to decide what is appropriate for their group, however the overall policy is there will be no groups created solely for promoting one particular company or product. This is a no-no. All groups must be approved before going live, and if a group is submitted that fits this description it will be deleted. Also, if there is a group that constantly promotes one particular company or product it will immediately be deleted regardless of how many members it may have.
- Messages between members - If any member messages unsolicited ads to other Thriftywahm.com members, that member will be warned once. If it happens again, their account will be deleted. Again, it's ok to talk about your business, just don't bother other members with a lot of information they didn't ask for.
- Homepage Comments - If any member sends unsolicited ads to other Thriftywahm.com members on the member's homepage that member will be warned once. If it happens again, their account will be deleted. Saying a genuine hello with no more than 2 links is fine. We want to make all new members feel welcome, not spammed from the get-go.
Q: How do I change my profile photo?
Q: What are ThriftyWAHM.com's rules of conduct?
A: The rules for using ThriftyWAHM.com are simple. There is no spamming fellow members allowed. After your first warning, if you spam again, your account will be deleted. Since the majority of the members are business owners, the rules of where and how to advertise your business are very specific for this site. Please read the rules on what is appropriate here and what is considered SPAM here. We also will not tolerate scams of any sort. If you have a complaint regarding SPAM or a scam, please contact us.ThriftyWAHM.com is not responsible for, and does not endorse any business or business owner on our site.
Q: How do I become a ThriftyWAHM.com representative for (my company)?
Q: What does being a ThriftyWAHM.com representative for (my company) entail?
A: Being a ThriftyWAHM.com representative for a particular network marketing company includes repping the company in our WAHM directory. Since WAHM is the main place folks look for a home based opportunity, the rep must be available to answer any questions, provide accurate information regarding the company and be an active and accountable member of the ThriftyWAHM.com community. In the future there may be additional responsibilities associated with being a site rep for a company. Reps can be replaced at any time, and replacements will be chosen from existing members of ThriftyWAHM.com. If you have any additional questions or concerns regarding your role as a rep, or need to step down as rep, contact us.
Q: If there is a representative chosen for (my company) and it isn't me, does that mean I can't be a member of ThriftyWAHM.com?
A: Absolutely not. While there can only be one official ThriftyWAHM.com rep for any network marketing company, the more individuals from a particular company that are members keeps everyone on their toes, and it is our goal to create a vast and helpful community. So whether there is only one member or 100 members from a company, each member has something to contribute and something to gain.
Q: How do I become the featured "Member of the Week?"
A: Featured members are chosen by the usefulness of their answer to the profile question "In what ways are you (or would like to be) thrifty or frugal?"
Q: How do I schedule an event?
A: First make sure your event follows the site's advertising rules. Events should not be used to promote sales or other marketing ventures. Events should be of interest to the general membership. If your event fits this description, go to the menu and click "Events." Then click "Add Event" and fill in your information. All events need to be approved before going live.
