I had a 30 year career in the National Health Service as a radiographer, specialising in breast screening. I progressed into Senior Management, in charge of a breast care unit.
I became very disillusioned, because of the bureaucracy and financial targets. I decided to take early retirement 5 years ago. We emigrated to Florida, unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances meant we had to return to the UK.
I did not want to go back into the NHS, so I was looking for an opportunity that would allow me to help people, because I have always had a passion for helping others. I wanted to find an opportunity that would allow me to help people. I now work for myself, helping others, I am in control of my future, not somebody telling me.
