- A little about yourself...
I'm writer, online content strategist, and cross platform producer. I have one wonderful son, Jordan, who's 5 going on 25, and after spending a some time as a WAHM, I am now back to working outside of the home now that my son is older.I have learned, and am continuing to learn, many lessons regarding frugality and thrift of which I'd like to share with all of you.I started ThriftyWAHM.com because I love to help other parents who want to help themselves through these challenging and interesting times. I truly believe in mental recession, but only how it relates to how we choose to deal with economic challenges. There's no doubt our world is going through an economic reckoning, however at the end of the day prosperity is about how we use what we have. After all, if you make a million dollars a year and you're a million dollars in debt, where does that leave you?
So I have chosen to NOT participate in the recession mentality, and your becoming a member of this site means we're somewhere on the same page.
There is money to be made, and money to be saved. To be at the mercy of economic shifts is no longer acceptable. We CAN, and must, control the financial future of ourselves and families.
So, I sincerely hope this site is a useful blessing to all who join!

- In what ways are you (or would like to be) thrifty or frugal?
- I was raised by a super-duper Thrifty Mom who somehow could make a dime stretch into a dollar. She was a single mom who managed to send her 2 kids to private school and to this day I'm still not sure how she did it. She was amazing, is sorely missed and I aspire to be like her.
Some things I do:
I buy food and household items in bulk, bake my own bread, and practice holistic living, healthy eating, exercise and alternative medicine to keep my body free from addictive, depleting, and expensive drugs. I conserve water and electricity wherever possible for economic reasons and for the good of our planet.
